Coffee Criticisms
I am not an avid coffee-drinker, but has anyone noticed how gross the coffee is in Blanchard is lately? Like not just the cafe, but also Uncommon Grounds. Yeah, I went there. Why does it (literally) taste like garbage? Maybe in December, the holiday flavors were distracting, but now everything has become quite clear. I mean, what IS this stuff? Just something to ponder. xoxo, The Blanchaholic

Grilled Veggie Wrap Lovers Unite!
The grilled veggie wrap is an awesome choice for someone who wants to eat light. It actually has very few calories if you order it on a lavash. Optimists say change can be a good thing, so see what you think of this late-breaking item: The recipe has been tweaked for the new year! And I believe it has changed for the better. No, they didn’t add zucchini (what I’ve been constantly...

January Thaw: A Lesson in Frozen Food Groups
I’m not from New England (and the whole region seems very foreign to me), but according to my father who spent part of his childhood in New Hampshire, apparently there is a period at the end of January when the weather is actually bearable. Enter the “January Thaw.” Well, if not, we can dream… And so I thought I would aptly give you a run-down on the best popsicles in...

R.I.P. Tomato Wraps
The other day, I talked about when my favorite things at Blanchard disappear. But they are always (thankfully) restocked before Tuesday morning (Thank you willdanceforever).  Unfortunately, we have a different situation on our hands.  This week is the end of tomato wraps as we know it. Like, done, finished, OVER. They have one bag left at the Deli Station and then that’s it! As someone who...

Your Favorite Things That Disappear
Blanchard is out of oreos? Must be Thursday. Whether you are a Springie, or just absent-minded, it is important to note what the most popular items are in Blanchard and when they typically run out every week. When the oreo basket is empty, it actually means they are out of oreos - not just lazy and forgot to refill the basket. Once upon a time I used to walk into Blanchard, see the empty basket...

For the Southerners and the Wannabes
If there are in fact any girls from the South on this campus (I met a girl from North Carolina once…), boy have I got news for you, er, y’all. Blanchard has Gold Peak Iced Tea now! I don’t know much about the brand, but apparently it has won awards? And is meant to be consumed on mountain tops (as the name suggests)? I prefer the lemon flavor, but they also have the original...

Back to School and All of the Those Good Things
What’s up? What have I missed? Are you back? I got in last night after a blissful experience in various airports. My life. Anyway. I hope you have given some thought to my preview post & that you were so inspired. I also want to officially say I hope everyone had a great holiday season. Even if it isn’t your thing, you at least had loads of time to empty out your fridge and your...

My Date With Destiny
Otherwise known as “My first meal at Blanchard of the New Year.” Tomorrow will be a very special day, folks. Tomorrow I will not only arrive at school for this semester, but I will also have my first Blanchard meal of 2012. I know! In fits of anticipation, I have already decided what it will be. A Honey Monkey sandwich. With carrots.  I can hear the violins now… xoxo, The...
