Can’t even believe I’m writing this, but THIS WEEK is the last week I will be dining at Blanchard (ever). So now the real question is, what should I try before leaving? Tell me what I’ve missed out on!

Today was a win! Among other reasons, my Mary Lyon sandwich was so memorable, it was honestly a religious experience. The bagel was perfectly charred. The eggs and sausage aligned on the bagel. The cheese melted. Grilled with care.

Hope everyone’s semester is off to a pleasant start. As pleasant as single digit temperatures can be. Which, begs the timeless question, why doesn’t Blanchard deliver? Or better yet, why do people live here by choice?
I would like to say, though, that the Blanchard chefs were in rare form this evening. And by that, I mean doing their jobs. Plus, standing up noticeably straight, on their best behavior. Maybe it was the tour of elderly patrons (??). Unclear, but definitely appreciated.

Time for break! And a obligatory holiday post!
I’m in the airport about to board my flight home. Kind of excited to be A) eating things other than Mary Lyon sandwiches and B) eating better versions of Blanchard delicacies. Let me know if you find anywhere that serves pizzas in an equally personal size. That’s the only glitch I’ve hit. I’ve been on the look out for a while, and this is something that the folks at Domino’s just don’t seem to understand.
Have a great holiday and I will see you in Blanchard for another delish semester in 2013. I’ll be the one in the Pizza line at 6:52, tapping my foot.

Look at this thing of beauty! It’s the new onecard/money machine. Fancy and functional. It greets you by name when you swipe your card (which is nice, because I’m all about personal service). It also may or may not be able to add value from a credit card. I’ll fact-check that and get back to you.

Just wanted to recognize the girl who works at the Info Desk Tuesday and Sunday Nights. Your playlist is perfectly old school. You even played “Call Me Irresponsible” (THE MICHAEL BUBLÉ VERSION OKAY) when I asked. And it was awesome. Other favorites of tonight include Slow Dancing in a Burning Room (John Mayer) and Let’s Stay Together (Al Green).

I just want to say all this time I thought those fruit drinks were called “Adam & Eve.” Until yesterday, when I realized Blanchard doesn’t carry the Cranberry Raspberry anymore, and I’ve been relegated to Fruit Punch. And then I saw they’re called “Apple & Eve.”
